At its 37th session that took place on April 9, 2013, the City of Biograd na Moru Council adopted the Development Strategy for the period from 2013 to 2020.
The City of Biograd na Moru Development Strategy is the basic document of the city’s development for the period from 2013 – 2020, adopted on the threshold of Croatia's accession to the European Union with the aim of further development of the City by synergistic pairing of European funds and local community potential.
Through targeted planning and investment in direct economic development, and indirect investment in infrastructure, the City of Biograd na Moru creates the preconditions for significant economic growth and development. Planning investments in infrastructure, rational and longstanding, and bearing in mind the needs of the inhabitants and legal companies, Biograd desires to be a partner to entrepreneurs and individuals that are interested in investing in its region.
On the other hand, economic development conditions the development of social infrastructure and improvement of the quality of life and the satisfaction of the local inhabitants. The city is aware that any investment requires time to reach a profit. Since Biograd has invested in knowledge so far, and it really has, and will invest even more, then it is time to use that knowledge and experience. Simply said, we want Biograd as a city of youth, a city of knowledge with the development and application of information and communication technology, which is the basis for the successful impact of science and entrepreneurship, a city of new awakened investment opportunities offering a comfortable life.
The responsibility for the implementation of the strategy lies for the most part on the institutions of the City, but not only on these. Without the support of the public, entrepreneurs, hoteliers, artisans, education and health workers and other interested groups, it will be difficult to develop and implement the outlined ideas. Synergistic action is essential in the implementation of the strategic development plan.
